Here are some of the accessibility improvements coming to the Windows 10 Creators Update

Microsoft has today pushed a new Windows 10 Creators Update build to testers in the Fast ring who have a 64-bit PC. After previous highs like build 15019 that brings us Game Mode and Beam streaming, the latest build 15025 is mostly about refinements.

Here’s what’s new:

Braille support in Narrator

With the Windows 10 Creators Update, blind or visually impaired users can use Narrator if they’ve a USB or serial-based braille display attached to the PC.

Of course, these aren't the only accessibility improvements coming to Narrator in the Creators Update.  Unassisted installation, new ways to launch Narrator, new voices, dynamic ducking, better Narrator responsiveness in Edge, and the ability to use a controller to drive Narrator interactions on Xbox are a few more detailed by Microsoft last year.

Mono audio option in Ease of Access settings

Another accessibility improvement for visually impaired users is the ability to switch audio to mono mode right from the new Audio section under Settings > Ease of Access > Other options. Because many of these users only put on one earbud to hear the PC (so the other ear can hear the surroundings); this feature will allow them to not miss any audio that’s going to the other earbud.

Night light improvements

Night light (previously called Blue light) is a feature that enables the screen to display warmer colors to help you sleep. In this build, its color temperature range is extended all the way down to a very red 1,200K.

While this build is light on fancy new features, there's a ton of other changes, improvements, and fixes (and a fair share of other bugs), which suggest Microsoft is now at the stage of cleaning up the bits. The Creators Update for Windows 10 is expected to arrive sometime in April.
