The Cubic selfie camera isn’t Taiwan-based camera and phone maker Altek’s latest camera, but the Cubic Live wireless live broadcasting camera is. And to attract Sanrio fans, there’s even a limited Hello Kitty edition.

Like the original Cubic, the Altek Cubic Live is a cube-shape camera that supports 1080p video recording, and you can control it from your smartphone with an app. A selfie camera aside, it’s now a ‘live broadcasting’ camera too, and you can use it to broadcast 720p video to YouTube in real time.

Hardware-wise, the Cubic Live sports a fixed focus, 150° wide-angle lens, a 16-megapixel CMOS sensor, and the company’s own Sunny 10 image processor. It supports dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, weighs merely 83g, and runs on a 940mAh battery. The Cubic Live for Hello Kitty app is already available for Android (your phone needs to be running at least Android 4.3), with the iOS version expected in September.

The Altek Cubic Live x Hello Kitty camera is available in Taiwan for NT3,580 (~S$157).

Oh, if Hello Kitty isn’t your thing, know that there’s also a Gudetama edition, which has its own separate app.
