The new feature nobody saw coming in the upcoming iOS 4.1 update was HDR photography. Only available for the iPhone 4, the HDR feature snaps three photographs in rapid succession, one properly exposed, one overexposed and one underexposed, then combines the three to produce a single image with more detail than a normal photograph could capture.
Wired.com has its hands on an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.1 and they've given the HDR feature a spin, with some sample images that look pretty good. Check them out.
