HandeVision announces a new series of compact full-frame lenses for Sony NEX E, Fuji X and Leica M mount cameras.

HandeVision’s first claim to fame was the IBELUX f/0.85 40mm lens back in May 2013, touted to be the “fastest production lens in the world” at the time. It was available in Sony E-mount, Fuji X-mount, Canon EF-M and Micro Four Thirds mounts, and saw quite a bit of initial interest because of the incredible maximum aperture.

Now, the German-Chinese joint venture is back and they’re releasing a range of fast full-frame lenses named the Iberit, with focal lengths of 24, 35, 50, 75 and 90mm and a constant maximum aperture of f/2.4.

Said to be built to suit mirrorless cameras the lenses are compact and light, but can be used on full-frame sensors as well as APS-C sensors. The lenses are full manual lenses without autofocus systems or electronic aperture control, and were designed based on classic constructions, using a full-metal construction with anodized aluminum, brass and stainless steel used. This is meant to “preserve the original photography experience”, allowing complete control over the focus point and aperture.

Every lens is said to be built with a full-metal construct.

Prototypes were developed, assembled and tested in Germany, and production in Shanghai will be done in accordance with German quality criteria ensuring that every lens meets up to standard. The new Iberit lenses with focal lengths of 35, 50 and 75 mm will be available in specialist shops as of January 2016, while the Iberit 24 and 90 mm lenses will be released later in the year.

The recommended retail price will range between US$480 and US$660 depending on model and mount, and all lenses will come with front and rear covers.
