A new model, GT-I9300 on Samsung Global Download Center support website may refer to the upcoming Galaxy S III and hints of a possible earlier than expected launch date.

According to Slash Gear, GT-I9300 is likely to be the Samsung Galaxy S III as its model number is a grade above the rest. This makes sense since the Galaxy S I, Galaxy S II and Galaxy Nexus are given the model numbers GT-I9000, GT-I9100 and GT-I9250 respectively.

There have been numerous rumors on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III, with the most recent one by Eldar Murtazin who tweeted that the device will be unveiled at MWC 2012. Known for various accurate leaks, Murtazin claimed that the Galaxy S III is equipped with a 12-megapixel camera, a HD resolution screen and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

An article in December last year pointed to a test image taken by an unknown Samsung device with the model number GT-I9500, which could also be referring to the Galaxy S III. The EXIF data of the photo indicated that the device has an aperture of 2.65 and four-millimeter focal length.
