It seems like no one can keep the speed crown for long. Earlier this month, Corsair revealed a 32GB DDR4 4,333MHz Vengeance LPX memory kit that it said was the world’s fastest, unseating another 32GB G.Skill kit clocked at 4,266MHz.

Now, the tables have turned again, with G.Skill announcing a new record-setting 32GB DDR4-4400 Trident Z kit.

The new kit comprises 4x8GB modules running at CL19-19-19-39 timings and 1.5V, with support for Intel XMP 2.0.

It also uses what G.Skill says are rigorously tested and binned Samsung B-die DDR4 ICs, which is the same as what Corsair does.

The company tested the kit with an ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero motherboard and Intel Core i7-8700K processor, once again crediting ASUS’ OptiMem technology with helping it achieve the faster speeds.
