Frustrated in getting a delivery slot? This web tool will ease your online grocery shopping needs!

Note: This article was first published on 11th April 2020 and is now updated with more online store options to check delivery slots.

Here's a community tool you'll want on your bookmark.

As more households take to online shopping for all their daily essentials, the streamlined supply and delivery chains are under strain to meet our daily demands. One aspect that consumers are put off in the buying cycle is when you've spent much time choosing all your grocery needs and lined up in your checkout cart, but when it's time to choose a delivery slot and make a payment, you either end up with no delivery slots or none that you prefer. There goes all your effort in filling up the shopping cart.

A local web developer (at heart) decided to do something about this and built a quick query tool that polls a number of popular grocery shopping sites of their available delivery slots relevant to your location. Here are the grocery stores listed:-

  • Amazon Singapore
  • Cold Storage
  • EA Mart
  • Giant
  • NTUC FairPrice
  • Market Fresh
  • Open Taste
  • Sheng Siong
  • Sasha's Fine Foods

Just drop in your postal code and find out who has delivery slots available!

Here's how you can make better use of this tool:-

  1. If you only want to shop with a preferred grocery vendor, build up your cart with them and then use this tool periodically to check if you have a delivery slot available to complete your transaction.
  2. Alternatively, and this is more useful, plan your grocery shopping spree only around vendors who can deliver to your preferred available slot.

Disclaimer: Due to the increased online shopping demands, there's still a chance that the delivery slots shown by the tool might be snapped up by the time you enter the grocery site to shop, fill your cart and check-out. As the common saying goes, first-come-first-serve.

We hope this local community initiative makes online grocery shopping a tad smoother.

Stay healthy, stay safe and stay home as much as you can.
