Griffin releases new wireless charging docks for the iPhone and Apple Watch
Accessory maker Griffin announced new wireless charging docks from its PowerBlock and Reserve collections at CES 2019. The four wireless charging docks are the PowerBlock Wireless Charging Pad/Stand, PowerBlock Wireless Fast Charging Pad, PowerBlock Wireless Fast Charging Pad with Apple Watch Dock, and Reserve Wireless Charging Power Bank.
PowerBlock Wireless Fast Charging Pad with Apple Watch Dock
It is a Qi-certified universal wireless charging pad that supports Apple's fast wireless charging at 7.5W and is compatible with all generations of Apple Watches. The Apple Watch nightstand mode allows you to easily view the time.
It also has an integrated status indicator light and a discrete compartment for cable management. The PowerBlock Wireless Fast Charging Pad with Apple Watch Dock will be available sometime in Q1 for US$79.99.
PowerBlock Wireless Charging Pad/Stand
Instead of forcing you to choose between a wireless charging pad and a wireless charging stand, Griffin offers you both in one device. The PowerBlock Wireless Charging Pad/Stand has a convertible design which easily transforms between a pad and a stand. The compact design also makes it ideal for travel use.
It is Qi-certified to provide up to 10W and has two built-in wireless coils to support device charging in landscape mode or portrait mode. It supports fast wireless charging for Apple and Samsung devices, but you need a Quick Charge 2.0 wall adapter which is not included.
The PowerBlock Wireless Charging Pad/Stand will be available in Q2 for US$39.99.
PowerBlock Wireless Fast Charging Pad
The PowerBlock Wireless Fast Charging Pad is future-proof to support Qi wireless charging up to 15W and comes bundled with a power adapter, which is likey the reason why it costs more than the PowerBlock Wireless Charging Pad/Stand.
It will be available sometime in Q1 for US$59.99.
Reserve Wireless Charging Power Bank
It is a two-in-one portable power bank (5,000mAh) and wireless charging pad that delivers 10W of power for smartphones and tablets through USB-A. It supports pass-through charging from micro-USB input to wireless output.
The power bank surface functions as a wireless charging pad for Qi-compatible devices and has a built-in power gauge to display the remaining charge capacity of the battery.
The Reserve Wireless Charging Power Bank will be available in Q1 for US$34.99.
