According to Grab, the fares are fixed and range from $3.50 to $5.00, and commuters pay their fares with their credit cards. Using the GrabShuttle mobile app, which is supported on Android and iOS, you can book a seat on a shuttle vehicle plying any of the 15 routes. GrabShuttle is launched in collaboration with the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech), and the service is built on the Beeline platform, which is an open-source, smart mobility framework that is developed by GovTech and the Land Transport Authority (LTA). Beeline is meant to enable “data-driven shuttle bus services”, and the platform also allows commuter to track the shuttle buses in real-time. According to GovTech's director of the Data Science Division, Mr. Liu Feng Yuan, the open architecture API of Beeline allows tech startups and private transport service providers to build their services on Beeline's platform so that service providers can offer streamlined mass transport options.

In the event there isn’t a suitable route, you can attempt to “crowdstart” one, only if 15 or more users request for similar routes. Besides allowing for cashless payment and a guaranteed seat on the shuttle bus, the service also allows you to book a trip up to a month in advance. If you can’t commit to a fixed commute route, GrabShuttle allows you to book trips for a few days in advance. For last minute travel plans, you can even book GrabShuttle up to 5 minutes before the start of the route.

GrabShuttle routes have fewer stops to allow for a smoother commute. The offered routes  are modelled on transport data and feedback from commuters. By leveraging on data analytics, these routes are meant to adapt to the changing needs of commuters with the aim of making Singapore a car-lite city.
