Grab superapp revives HungryGoWhere

HungryGoWhere returns, albeit different from before.

HungryGoWhere is back, and its new master is Grab.

Grab superapp relaunched local F&B portal HungryGoWhere and its accompanying social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Telegram), with an aim to “address the growing interest of diners to reconnect with our local food scene in much deeper ways”, according to its official statement released today (15 June 2022).

Grab said that the site would act as a one-stop platform for its food reviews, profile interviews, and a behind-the-scenes look into the food we put into our bodies. For content curation, it added that HungryGoWhere relies on Grab’s insights-driven data and analytics to spot popular food trends, frequently visited places, and other foodie preferences in Singapore.

HungryGoWhere’s stories and content will also be shared on the Grab app, so don’t be too surprised when you see the iconic red logo show up when you order food.

“Eventually, we want to establish Grab and our associated brands as the go-to source for diners seeking the best food recommendations and F&B brands looking to grow their business. We believe that our deep relationships with merchants and key learnings from the food sector, coupled with our extensive superapp insights, will help us achieve this,” said Cifer Ong, Managing Director, Strategy & Partnerships, Grab Singapore.

Here’s a little history on the F&B and restaurant reservations portal. HungryGoWhere started independently in 2004 and was acquired by Singtel in 2012. After 15 years, Singtel shut it down in 2021 with no hints of revival. In its current incarnation, the site has shedded its reservations system in favour of directing users to the Grab app (and the venue itself).
