GoPro launches trade-up program in the U.S

To get more people to purchase its Hero 5 models, GoPro has rolled the first ever camera trade-up program in the U.S.

U.S consumers who have any old GoPro models in any condition (e.g. water-logged, mud-caked, missing components) can participate in the trade-up program to get US$50 discount on the Hero 5 Session or US$100 discount on the Hero 5 Black.

The latest campaing is likely in response to lower-than-expected sales of its GoPro 5 models. GoPro is currently struggling to save costs and survive. It cut 15% of the workforce and axed its entertainment divison last December. Earlier last month, it laid off another 270 employees from various departments including public relations, marketing and sales.
