The Apple iPhone 6 is not the only device to be coming later this year; Google and Motorola is said to be working on a Nexus smartphone for release in November.

The Information, a subscription publication, reports it has three different sources confirming that Motorola is indeed the manufacturer for the next Nexus 6 smartphone. Google is said to begin working with Motorola on the project shortly after the sale to Lenovo was announced. The Nexus 6 is also believed to sport a larger screen size of 5.9-inches.

The Information - After Lenovo agreed to buy Motorola, Google’s Android unit began working with Motorola to develop a co-branded “Nexus” phone that’s considered to be a “phablet,” or phone-tablet, because of its large screen size, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.

Apparently, Google wanted to use Motorola's technologies such as Active Display and Touchless Control from the Moto X on the Nexus phone. The latest report came a few days after Android Police received details that Motorola is working with Google on a device with the codename Shamu.

With rumors of a HTC Nexus 9 tablet and another lower-cost Nexus smartphone in the works, it seems that the Nexus brand is going strong despite the introduction of Android Silver program.
