Google is reportedly very optimistic on the pre-order numbers for its Pixel 7.

Sources familiar with the matter told Nikkei Asia that Google has ordered more than 8 million units of the Pixel 7 phones for the launch. In addition, Google told suppliers that it aims to double phone sales for 2023 compared to this year.

The sources also say a budget Pixel phone is scheduled to launch early next year, which is likely to boost Google's confidence in selling record numbers in 2023.

The Pixel 7 phones were officially unveild on 6 October. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be available in Singapore from 13 October.
