Google announced that it is rolling out Android 11 to selected phone models from today.

In a blog post, Google shared that Android 11 will be available from selected Pixel, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo and Realme phones from today while other partners will launch and upgrade their devices in the coming months.

The company also highlighted 11 new features of Android 11:

  1. A dedicated space in the notifications section for conversations across the different messaging apps so that it is easier to manage all the conversations in one spot.
  2. Bubbles to help users respond to important conversations without having to switch back and forth between apps.
  3. Built-in screen recording.
  4. Access all the smart devices by long pressing the power button.
  5. Redesigned media controls to help users switch the device the media is playing on.
  6. Android Auto now works wirelessly for all Android 11-powered phones when users have a compatible vehicle.
  7. One-time permission to grant single use access to microphone, camera and location.
  8. "Auto-reset" permissions for unused apps.
  9. Additional Google Play system update modules ensure more security and privacy fixes are sent to Android 11 phones without having to wait for a full OS update.
  10. Privacy protections are coming to company-issued devices for Android Enterprise users.
  11. New features such as app suggestions on the home screen to help users organise and manage their phone for Pixel 2 or newer models.
