Google announces US$99 Pixel Buds A-Series

Google just announced its latest wireless earbuds, the Pixel Buds A-Series.
The Pixel Buds A-Series come with custom-designed 12mm dynamic speaker drivers for full, clear and natural sound. They also have a spatial vent to reduce in-ear pressure, and a stabiliser arc to ensure a gentle, but secure fit.
Other specs include Adaptive Sound to turn up/down the volume based on your environment, beamforming mics to focus on your voice and reduce outside noise, up to five hours of listening time on a single charge or up to 24 hours using the charging case, a quick charge of 15 minutes for up to 3 hours of listening time, USB-C port, IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance, and Google Assistant.
Essentially, the new Pixel Buds A-series is a more affordable version of the earlier launched Pixel Buds (2020). That also means the Pixel Buds A-Series drops some features such as wind reduction, wireless charging, swipe for volume control, and attention alerts. Google also has a comparison page that shows the mentioned differences.
The Pixel Buds A-Series come in Clearly White and Dark Olive. Priced at US$99, they are now available for pre-order in the U.S and Canada with shipping from 17 June. If you're interested to get a pair, do join the waiting list on Google Store Singapore.
Locally, Google now has these earbuds on pre-order status and they are priced at S$149 and they sound like a good option for something that's priced nearly half of what the 2020 Pixel Buds sold for. Unlike in North America where you've two colour options, at the moment, only the white option is available in Singapore.
