Purported renders of the Google Pixel 9 provide a good look at the upcoming smartphone.
Similar to the Apple iPhone 15 and Samsung Galaxy S24, Google appears to be adopting a flat design for the display and sides for the Pixel 9.
What caught our attention was the rear camera module on the Pixel 9. Gone is the Camera Bar design which has appeared on the past three generations of Pixel phones. The new design is shorter and does not extend to the edge of the phone. It resembles an elongated capsule and we are not convinced it's an elegant way to house the cameras.

91Mobiles claims the Pixel 9 would be the first in the base model lineup to sport three lenses and one of them is a telephoto lens.
Other rumoured specs include a 6.1-inch display and a physical footprint of 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5mm. In comparison, the Pixel 8 measures 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9mm, so the new phone would be a little longer.
