It’s been four months since Google introduced the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro smartphones, and Google’s finally making good on its promise to launch the Pixel 6 series devices in Singapore early this year. Pixel fans rejoice!

Google Singapore said delivery dates will "differ across orders" and buyers should check their order statuses for further information.

If you’ve not heard, the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro uses Google’s proprietary chipset, Google Tensor. Benchmarking tests done overseas puts the processor’s performance anywhere between mid-range and flagship-lite, with comparable synthetic performance to the MediaTek Dimensity 900 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processors.
But what sets the Google Pixel 6 series apart from others is the stock Android experience and its attention to detail in AI-based or AI-assisted features that cut across the gamut. You can read more about the handsets in our initial launch coverage here, and via Google’s very own blog post here.
That said, the phones have a lot to do to regain consumer confidence given their buggy launch. Plenty of issues plagued Pixel 6 series users, according to an informal Reddit poll by 400+ respondents collating all reported bugs. Pixel 6 devices reportedly have slower fingerprint sensors (relative to other phones), excessive battery drain, inconsistent refresh rates during extended use, and its adaptive brightness seems wonky.
The phones’ January 2022 update seems to have fixed most issues for some users, although it’s not a consistent fix for all, on top of introducing new bugs for a minority group of users.
We’ll definitely try and see if our experience with the Pixel 6 devices are similar or better than most. Until then, you can purchase the Pixel 6 series phones from the Google Store page.
