Contrary to an earlier rumor, Google may not announce the Pixel 3 phones on 4 October.

Citing information from sources familiar with Google's plans, Bloomberg claims that the Pixel 3 phone will be announced at a media event in New York on 9 October. If you recall, Google unveiled the first and second generations of Pixel phones on 4 October.

The Pixel 3 XL has been leaked numerous times over the past few weeks. @OnLeaks and MySmartPrice shared renders of the Pixel 3 models in late June. A month later, a XDA member shared photos of a prototype unit.

Earlier this month, a tech blogger posted videos and an unboxing video of a "pre-release version" of the Pixel 3 XL and the handset was spotted in the wild just a week ago.

The Pixel 3 is expected to retain the same design and use of a single-lens module alongside the rear fingerprint sensor. It is likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and will ship with Android 9.
