Just a month ago in August, Google announced that it’s developing a new app for the Apple Watch. As noted by 9to5Google, this is now live with the latest Google Maps update on the App Store.

According to Google’s earlier announcement, Google Maps for Apple Watch lets you easily navigate by car, bike, public transit or on foot. From your wrist you can quickly check estimated arrival times, step-by-step directions to destinations and other shortcuts you’ve set up in the app.

While you can start navigating from your phone and pick up where you left off on the watch app, 9to5Google notes that the app isn’t capable of showing live maps — something you get if you use Apple Maps.

For those who remember, Google Maps on Apple Watch isn’t exactly new. When Apple Watch first launched in 2015, Google Maps was actually one of the earliest apps to jump onboard. However, Maps withdrew from the platform in 2017 and never returned — until today.
