Google+ has just unveiled a new feature that allows users to add text to your photos. All you need to do is select a photo, drop it into your "Share" box on Google+, and click the  "Add text" button.

If you find the above image hauntingly familiar, then you belong to the internet generation that's acquainted with internet memes. Defined as an idea that is propagated through the world wide web, internet memes tend to have a life of its own, often going viral. Taking an arrow to the knee, for example, will be easily identified by gamers as one such meme, borne through the popular role-playing game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Undoubtedly, Google is often knee deep when it comes to identifying the internet culture, with loads of easter eggs planted in its search pages. This new feature is perhaps Google's way of increasing the participation of its loyal users as well as attracting new users.

One thing is for sure; be prepared for a wave of D.I.Y memes.
