Google services such as Gmail and Maps have received their own stand-alone apps but Calendar from Google hadn't received the same treatment. But it seems Calendar is getting the recognition it finally deserves as Google unveils a stand-alone app that can be downloaded from the Google Play store.

Features found in the app include pinching to zoom in and out of individual days, as well as the ability to set a home time zone to help manage your time when travelling. While some of us running Jellybean might already have the app, this is good news for those who prefer Google's version to other default calendar apps such as Samsung's S Planner.  The app download requires devices to be running Android 4.0 or Jellybean, so if your device fits the bill, hit the source link for the download.
