Global Availability of Huawei Ascend P1 Announced (Update)

Update: While there's no official price announced for the device in Singapore yet, we are expecting it to be around USD500. The price of the Ascend P1 will vary between countries - in fact, in China, the Ascend P1S was launched at a RRP of 2,999 RMB (approx. USD475).

Huawei has announced the availability of the Huawei Ascend P1 yesterday. The phone will be available in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Australia through operators and retailers by May 2012, in Latin America from June 2012 and in Europe from summer, with availability in other markets to follow. The phone comes with the following specs:

  • dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortext-A9 processor
  • 4.3-inch Super AMOLED QHD touch screen
  • 8-megapixel BSI camera

Singaporeans waiting to get their hands on the Huawei Ascend P1 will have to wait for a while though. Local representatives have informed us that they do not have a firm date for the P1’s availability in Singapore as of now. The good news is that the device will definitely make its way to our island.
