Gigabyte hints at upcoming NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti with cheeky Facebook post
Gigabyte’s, ahem, clowning around on Facebook. The hardware manufacturer added plenty of fodder to the rumor that NVIDIA is about to release a new card in the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, after it posted a teaser on its Facebook page.
The post has since been removed – but not before it was grabbed by several websites – which seemingly adds credence to the swirling speculation.
It references the recent hit adaption of Stephen King’s horror novel, It, with some not-so-subtle wordplay. “Ti will get you too…eventually,” the post read, complete with a #comingsoon hashtag.
There was also an image of an Aorus graphics card, so it seems likely that what was being teased was in fact a GPU.
The rumors picked up last week when a Chinese web forum user posted an image of his system specifications, which included an ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Strix O8G.
Of course, there’s no way of confirming anything now, but perhaps the It reference suggests a Halloween launch? The naming also points toward a card positioned between the GeForce GTX 1070 and 1080, and it'll be interesting to see how the card is priced, assuming it actually exists.
