Gigabyte Demonstrates 4K Video Output to Four Screens with Dual Thunderbolt Mobo
Last month, Gigabyte demonstrated the 4K video support of its dual-port Thunderbolt Intel Z77 motherboards. By using a third generation Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 CPU with onboard Intel HD graphics, the dual-port Thunderbolt motherboard is able to output an Ultra HD 4K video stream across four standard displays, giving an incredible combined Ultra HD resolution of 3840 x 2400 pixels.
Besides obtaining the right hardware, Gigabyte mentioned that the new 4K Collage Graphics driver must be installed on the system before it is able to stream the video to the multiple 1080p displays. The three Thunderbolt-enabled motherboards are the GA-Z77X-UP5 TH, GA-Z77X-UP4 TH and the GA-Z77MX-D3H TH. They are easily identified by the "TH" suffix.
