Garmin vivomove Trend hybrid smartwatch comes to Singapore
Smartwatches with digital watch faces are the norm, but there’s just something about an analogue watch face with a dial and time-telling hands that sets them apart from a cold, black display. Garmin has both digital and analog perks in one wearable, via the newly-launched Garmin vivomove Trend.
The Garmin vivomove Trend is the latest of the smartwatch brand’s vivomove lineup. The hybrid smartwatch range typically combines Garmin's strong smartwatch features with a stylish look suitable for fancy occasions. The vivomove Trend sees Garmin combining a classic analog watch design with essential smartwatch features and notification features, offering tracking perks for sleep, stress, fitness, and more. It’s now officially launched in Singapore.
Garmin vivomove Trend has real-time ticking hands and a full-dial hidden display (254 x 346 pixels resolution) that only appears when summoned. The 1.01 x 0.74-inch Hidden Greyscale Liquid Crystal panel is also a touchscreen: when the user interacts with the domed glass, the watch hands will move away and make room for any stats or notifications beneath.
It has a 20mm quick-release silicone band by default, 5ATM (50m depth), rated water resistance, and a four-day-long battery life in smartwatch mode (five days, if used solely as a watch). Naturally, the vivomove Trend pairs with the Garmin Connect app, allowing users to check their health metrics and make necessary customisations like any other smartwatch.
Smartwatch features included are notifications support (for text, social media, emails, etc.), safety and tracking capabilities (letting you send your live location to loved ones in a jiffy), 24/7 wrist-based heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring with a sleep score, blood oxygen monitoring, stress tracking, and women’s health tracking for menstrual cycles and pregnancy. It also offers the Body Battery feature where the Garmin vivomove Trend tells you your energy levels throughout the day.
The only missing feature is GPS, where the smartwatch relies instead on your paired smartphone for precise positional data. Pairing to one lets users track their running activities more accurately, on top of the hybrid smartwatch’s built-in support for 14 types of sports.
The Garmin vivomove Trend is available in four colours (Deep Black, White Cream, French Gray and Mist Gray) at an official retail price of S$439. It’s available at the following channels:
