Garmin Singapore has brought new GPS cycling computers for Singapore-based cyclists who want to track their performance metrics — the Edge 540 and Edge 840 Series.

These cycling computers are designed to provide dynamic insights and analytics for serious cyclists who want targeted adaptive coaching, a better understanding of their cycling ability, and information about their course demands. Together, these cycling computers offer a snapshot of a cyclist’s strengths and weaknesses, helping prepare them for their next milestone or race.

Both IPX7-rated Edge 540 and 840 Series cycling computers have non-solar and solar-charging models available. Non-solar models have 26 hours of battery life, while the solar-charging ones offer up to 32 hours of battery life and 60 hours in battery-saver mode. The critical difference lies in their displays, with the Edge 540 Series being non-touchscreen (both are 2.66-inch, 246 x 322 pixels resolution).

These cycling computers come with the following core features:

  • Cycling ability and course demands: identification of strengths and weaknesses as a cyclists, and preparation for a specific course via focus training in recommended areas.
  • Targeted adaptive coaching: indoor and outdoor cycling, workout and training prompts, with personalised coaching based on training load, recovery, and any upcoming races or events.
  • Real-time stamina: tracking of exertion levels during a ride to monitor cycling pace.
  • Power guide: setting of power targets during a course.
  • ClimbPro ascent planner: checking out remaining ascent and grade for each climb without course navigation. Also supports direct searches via the cycling computer or Garmin app.
  • Multi-band GNSS: enhanced positioning accuracy, even under dense tree cover or urban cycling environments.
  • Solar-charging (for solar models only): extra 25 minutes of uptime per hour during daytime riding.

Besides these core features for metrics, the Edge 540 and 840 Series are also compatible with a host of Garmin-branded trackers. These Garmin cycling computers are compatible with Varia cycling radars, inReach communications devices, and Tacx indoor smart cycling trainers.
