Garmin today announced two new smartwatches at CES 2022.

The vivomove Sport hybrid smartwatch may look like a traditional smartwatch, but it packs all the modern features of a fitness smartwatch. It can monitor respiration, Pulse OX, stress, sleep stages, hydration logging and 24/7 heart rate. Users can access the built-in sports app for yoga, strength, Pilates, cardio, treadmill, cycling and more exercises.

Other features include Body Battery which shows the current energy level to help in planning workouts, menstrual cycle tracking, pregnancy tracking, and breathwork activites for focus and stress relief.

Garmin claims the US$179.99 vivomove Sport has a battery life of up to 5 days in smartwatch mode and an additional day in watch mode. It supports smart notifications for calls, text messages, social media updates and alerts.

When connected to the smartphone, the Venu 2 Plus allows the user to take calls and use the compatible phone's voice assistant to send texts, ask questions and control compatible smart home devices.

Similar to the vivomove Sport, the Venu 2 Plus comes with several 24/7 health monitoring features such as heart rate measurement, advanced sleep tracking, fitness age, respiration, all-day stress, hydration and women's health.

The Venu 2 Plus also supports more than 25 built-in indoor and GPS sports apps, more than 75 preset animated workouts for cardio, yoga, strength, HIIT and Pilates in Garmin Connect.

Consumers can enjoy listening to music on the move with support for up to 650 songs from Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer. In addition, mobile payment is possible on the smartwatch via Garmin Pay.

The Venu 2 has a touchscreen AMOLED display with optional, always-on mode and reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Battery life is stated to be up to 9 days in smartwatch mode, and up to 8 hours in GPS + Music mode. Fast charge is supported; 10 minutes of charging can offer up to 1 day of smartwatch mode battery life or 1 hour of GPS + music battery life.

Priced at US$449.99, the Venu 2 Plus comes in three colour options with a 43mm watch case, stainless steel bezel and hardware, and a 20mm quick-release silicone band.
