The Galaxy S11 could come with a "Bright Night" camera sensor

Purported render of the Samsung Galaxy S11+.

Samsung has filed a trademark application for a new camera sensor which could debut on the upcoming Galaxy S11 lineup.

The new camera sensor is dubbed "Bright Night sensor", and will be used in smartphones and tablets. This could be one of the five rear camera sensors that is rumored to be coming to the Galaxy S11/S11+.

The South Korean company is already using "Bright Night" as a dedicated night mode on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note10 lineup. The "Bright Night sensor" could be a dedicated sensor for low-light photography and when used together with the rumored Night Hyperlapse camera mode, the Galaxy S11 could rival the astrophotography mode on the Pixel 4.
