Future Samsung phones will feature Radeon RDNA graphics engine
Future Samsung phones will boast higher graphics performance thanks to a partnership with AMD.
Under the multi-year strategic partnership, Samsung will license AMD graphics IP which include the latter’s newly announced RDNA graphics architecture. Samsung will also focus on advanced graphics technologies and solutions that are essential for enhancing innovations across mobile applications including smartphones.
AMD’s RDNA architecture is likely to replace the ARM-designed Mali GPUs that are used in Exynos chipsets. Having said that, this means that not every Samsung phone will come with Radeon RDNA graphics engine as the South Korean company uses a mix of Qualcomm and Exynos chipsets for its flagship phones.
