Fujifilm boosts the fun in the new Instax Mini 11

Looking very much like the Instax Mini 9, the Instax Mini 11 is very much like its predecessor, albeit with extra bells and whistles like auto exposure, a Macro Mode and a selfie mode.

Physically, it is slightly changed. Fujifilm has made it more modern, with more pronounced curves and it comes in five fun colours – Blush Pink, Sky Blue, Charcoal Grey, Ice White and Lilac Purple.

Like the Instax Mini 9, it uses and shoots Instax Mini instant film and uses the same two-element 60mm lens but the new auto exposure automatically sets shutter speed and flash output based on the level of ambient light instead of relying on a rudimentary dial like the Mini 9.

Macro Mode works by pulling on the front of the lens, dropping the minimum focus distance to just 0.3m without needing a lens attachment. Doing the same action also releases the selfie mode, with a small mirror next to the lens to help you frame your shot

There are two new film formats as well. Mini format film “Blue Marble” and Square format film “White Marble”.

According to Fujifilm, the Instax Mini 11, Mini format film “Blue Marble” and Square format film “White Marble” will be available on or after 5 March, 2020.

The camera will be available in a combo kit comes with a camera and two packs of Instax mini film for S$149. Additional film is priced at S$15.50 for the Mini format film and S$18.90 for the Square format film.
