Ford wants to apply its lane-keeping drive technology in the bedroom
In what sounds like a bad April Fools' joke, Ford has introduced its prototype Lane-Keeping bed. It features a conveyer belt-like mattress with pressure sensors. Once the Lane-Keeping bed detects the invasive weight of the bed mate, the mattress will roll the “space invader” back to his or her side the bed, effectively keeping the selfish bed mate “in lane”.
According to Ford, over one in four respondents report sleeping better alone, and the lack of quality sleep over long periods will increase the risk of injury and accidents. So instead of separate beds to prevent “sleep divorces”, Ford has decided to apply its automotive expertise to tackle such issues in the bedroom.
