Focal adds yet another high-end headphone to their line-up – the US$3000 Stellias
Listed as headphones designed for use at home and on-the-go, the new Focal Stellias are equipped with new generation electrodynamic speaker drivers that are supposed to offer an incredibly wide frequency response of 5Hz to 40kHz, while working at a low acoustic load. The headphones have a very low impedance of 35Ω, making them very easy to drive without additional amplification. You’ll find the same M-shaped pure Beryllium dome driver and frameless 100% copper voice coil in this headphone as in the Clear, Elear, and Utopia, so you can expect great dynamics and excellent response.
Focal’s audio engineers have also added integrated vents to the headphone to extend the drivers’ frequency response. There’s also an extra piece of EVA foam positioned behind the speaker driver to absorb high frequencies, and acoustic diffusers have been added to break up any standing waves that might be created so you get only the cleanest audio.
The headphones also use the headband and yoke features from the Utopia, with a consistent curve that offers great comfort regardless of your head shape or size. This is paired with high resilience memory foam earpads for hours of listening and comfort, with the added benefit of passive noise isolation through the inclusion of non-perforated full-grain leather that absorbs external sound.
As you can see from the image above, the Stellias come with a full set of accessories; including carrying cases for both headphone and cables.
