Five of the top 10 most popular phones on AnTuTu in 1H 2016 are Samsung
Popular benchmarking app AnTuTu has a habit of ranking smartphones based on their performance, mobile processors and within their respective platforms. It just released the list of the world's most popular smartphones for the first half of the year.
Not surprisingly, Samsung Galaxy smartphones take up five spots in the top 10 list. The top four spots are taken by the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 edge and the Galaxy S7. Xiaomi managed to enter the top five with its Redmi Note 3. The Galaxy S7 edge is ranked sixth followed by the Meizu MX5, LG G3, LeEco 1S and Meizu Metal.
If you haven't noticed by now, Apple did not make it to the list. This is expected since sales of the iPhone dropped for the first time since 2007 due to the gloomy economic climate, strong U.S dollar and increasing competition from Chinese phone manufacturers.
