Fitbit users rejoice, because the Fitbit app is getting a major update later this fall.

The new app features numerous updates made based on user feedback. It is said to be simpler to navigate, easier to use, and more personalised. There is a refined colour palette with updated photography and illustrations, and refreshed icons.

Currently available to try as a limited beta for select Fitbit users, the new Fitbit app shows key information in a three-tab structure.

In the refreshed "Today" tab, users can see an overview of their top stats which they can customise based on personal goals. There are also more consistent charts, graphics and icons to show health trends.

In the new "Coach" tab, users can find motivating health and fitness content such as a curated list of workouts and mindfulness sessions. Fitbit Premium users have access to more content such as HIIT and dance cardio classes.

The new "You" tab allows users to adjust personal details and goals, manage community connections, and track achievements with redesigned badges. This tab also enables users to reflect on their progress, access assessments and reports, and connect with friends.

Google says the new Fitbit app will be available to everyone this fall. It also assures Fitbit users that their health and wellness data will not be used for Google ads, and will be kept separate from Google ads data.
