Fitbit just announced its latest fitness tracker, the Charge 4.

While the Charge 4 looks like the Charge 3, much of the upgrades are under the hood. One of the most significant upgrades is the built-in GPS where users no longer need to bring their phones along for outdoor runs, cycles, hikes or other physical activity. Another new feature is Workout Intensity Map, which automatically plots a map of your route and heart rate zones throughout to see where you put in the most effort.

The Charge 4 is the first Fitbit tracker to have Spotify - Connect & Control feature where you can control music playback, like songs, and browse playlists or podcasts right on your wrist. The inclusion of Fitbit Pay means you can make mobile payments on the go without a physical wallet.

For fitness enthusiasts, the new Active Zone Minutes feature will come in handy for your training. Used in conjunction with Fitbit's PurePulse 24/7 heart rate tracking, Active Zone Minutes uses your personalised heart rate zones to track your effort for any physical activity and help you see if you are meeting the weekly recommendation of 150 minutes. This recommendation is based on guidelines provided by leading health organisations such as the World Health Organisation and the American Heart Association.

Other specs of the Charge 4 include water resistance up to 50m, notifications and quick replies, a battery life of up to 7 days or up to 5 hours when using GPS, and a relative SpO2 sensor to estimate the oxygen level variability in your bloodstream.

The Charge 4 is priced at US$149.95 and is available in three colours (black, rosewood and storm blue/black. There is a Special Edition model priced at US$169.95 which comes in an exclusive granite reflective/black woven band plus a classic black band.

Pre-order for Charge 4 and Charge 4 Special Edition begins today at Fitbit.com, and will be available at major retail stores in Singapore such as Best Denki, Challenger, Courts, E-Gadget, Gain City, Harvey Norman, and online worldwide starting mid-April 2020.
