Vivo just announced three new flagship phones, one of which is the first in the world to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform.

The new flagship Vivo phones are the X90, X90 Pro and X90 Pro+. While the Vivo X90 Pro+ is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the other two models run on MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipsets.

All three phones sport a 6.78-inch 120Hz OLED display, Android 13 operating system, have RAM options up to 12GB, and Zeiss-branded cameras with a fixed-focus, 2x telephoto lens.

While all three pack 50MP main cameras on the rear, the  Pro+ version gets a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor. The rest of its lenses are a 64MP periscope telephoto (3.5x optical zoom) and another 50MP portrait lens (2x optical zoom with fixed focus). Both zoom lenses have OIS. It also has a 48MP ultra-wide.

The Pro gets three rear cameras instead, with its additional shooters being a 50MP telephoto (2x optical zoom) and 12MP ultra-wide. Finally, the regular X90 uses additional 12MP telephoto (2x optical zoom) and ultra-wide, and its main camera isn't the same 1-inch sensor type as the other two pricier ones.

Vivo's latest X90 phones are only available in China, with prices starting from CNY3,699 (8GB RAM + 128GB storage) for X90, CNY4,999 (8GB RAM + 256GB storage) for X90 Pro, and CNY6,499 (12GB RAM + 256GB storage) for X90 Pro+ respectively. Pro+ comes later with a China-only pre-order starting on 28 November, while the other two are available for pre-order in China at launch.
