In early August, we reported that Singapore will be the first country in the world to get ASUS' new 802.11ax-capable RT-AX88U router. Now, it is finally here.

802.11ax is set to be the big wireless standard and it has numerous improvements that will improve everyone's overall Wi-Fi experience. If you are unfamiliar with 802.11ax, we suggest checking out our guide to 802.11ax here.

Back to the RT-AX88U. It is a dual-band router and offers transfer speeds of up to 1,148Mbps over its 2.4GHz network and 4,804Mbps over its 5GHz network. This gives it an AX6000-class rating.

To complement its high data transfer speeds, the RT-AX88U will come with no less than 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports. This will allow users to connect to multiple devices such as the NAS systems, TVs, and external storage drives.

The RT-AX88U will also support ASUS technologies like AiProtection and AiMesh. The former protects your networks from online threats while the latter allows users to create their own mesh network with compatible ASUS AiMesh routers.

Besides the RT-AX88U, ASUS also teased a couple of other networking products that will be arriving soon and this includes the ROG-GTAX11000, the AiMesh AX6100 WiFi system, and the Lyra Voice.

The ASUS RT-AX88U is priced at S$599 and will be available for purchase by mid-October.
