Firefox’s new browser for iOS lets you surf in secret
Firefox has introduced a new, and private, browser for iOS. Firefox Focus automatically blocks online trackers, and a conspicuous ‘Erase’ button that lets you wipe your history with a single tap.
It’s the web pared down, not only will Firefox Focus block ads from showing, it’ll also slim down the amount of data you need to download as a result. There are no tabs and no menus in this minimal browser, just a single search bar to find what you’re secretly looking for.
You should know that Firefox Focus doesn’t encrypt your data by default (unless you’re on a secure website), nor transmit data through a VPN, so you can still be spied on if you’re on a compromised network. The app is really for those times when you don’t want anyone to look through your history by using your browser.
You can also extend Firefox Focus’ ad-blocking feature onto mobile Safari, and have it act as a content blocker. Get Firefox Focus for free on the App Store.
