FiiO’s new FH7 in-ear monitors come with interchangeable sound filters

The FH7 packs five drivers into a custom shell.

FiiO’s latest IEM, the FH7 follows their earlier FA7 in having four Knowles balanced armature drivers, but also adds a dynamic driver to the mix. The high and ultra-high frequency spectrums are handled by a Knowles SWFK-31736 BA driver, known for being extremely detailed without being harsh.

Meanwhile, mids are handled by a custom driver FiiO and Knowles developed together. This is a modified version of the classic Knowles 30017 driver; tweaked to give the mids more body for fuller and sweeter vocals as well as a larger soundstage.

Finally, low frequencies are handled by a 13.6mm Beryllium diaphragm dynamic driver; famous for its unparalleled lightness, flexibility, and rigidness for even deeper, explosive bass.

Interchangeable sound filters lets you easily adjust the sound.

The FH7 model adds a new custom shell that allows for interchangeable sound filters, so you can more easily get sound just the way you want it.

Three types of filters are available: Red, Green and Black. The Red filter places the emphasis on dynamic bass, the Black one gives a more balanced soundspace, while the Green filter brings out treble details.

The FH7’s shell is made of aerospace-grade aluminum-magnesium alloy and goes through 21 steps of CNC-machining, with a total of 3,873 cuts. This is finished with a final round of sandblasting and hand polishing so have a final shell that not only looks good, but is also exceptionally rigid to reduced unwanted resonance and distortion.

Plenty of work has gone into these CNC-machined earbuds.

The headphone will also come with an extensive set of foam tips, a navy blue snap case to store your in-ear monitor safely, and a little fabric pouch to hold your tips. It’s available for retail now at all authorized retailers for S$749.
