Facebook rolls out "Most Recent" timeline for its mobile app

Facebook just announced several changes to give users more control and context in News Feed.

One of the more significant changes is the addition of the Feed Filter bar, which is a new menu at the top of News Feed. The Feed Filter bar allows you to access "Most Recent" where posts are shown in a chronological order instead of an algorithmically-ranked News Feed.

Android app users can now access the Feed Filter Bar when they scroll up on News Feed, but iOS app users need to wait for a few weeks before this feature is available.

Another new feature is the ability to control your commenting audience for a particular public post. You can choose to have anyone, friends, or only profiles and pages you mention in the post to comment.

Facebook is also helping you understand why you see suggested posts in your News Feed. You can now tap on "Why am I seeing this" to get more context on why a certain suggested post is on your News Feed. There are several factors such as related engagement, related topics or location.
