Facebook is hit with a $5 billion fine by the FTC over privacy violations.
Sources told The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) that FTC has approved the settlement with Facebook which also includes privacy restrictions on how Facebook manages user privacy.
The $5 billion fine would end the year-long probe into Facebook after the Cambridge Analytica scandal happened. During this period, Facebook suffered another major privacy gaffe where a security issue exposed millions of user accounts.
