EZ-Link and Mastercard today (28 April 2022) jointly announced their partnership, allowing EZ-Link Wallet to expand its digital payment presence globally.

EZ-Link Wallet, now enhanced further with Mastercard’s Pay by Account technology, can now use the contactless payment method for e-commerce purchases, recurring subscriptions, and digital payment at 80+ million merchants that accept Mastercard worldwide.

Android phone user pairs EZ-Link's and Mastercard's Pay By Wallet to Google Pay for payment.

The addition of Mastercard support doesn’t dilute the payment method’s existing features. Users can still rely on SGQR for Singapore merchants and its ongoing Alipay+ tie-up for merchants in Japan.

Users of EZ-Link Wallet can also benefit from both Mastercard and EZ-Link loyalty programs. Every transaction allows EZ-Link Wallet users to earn EZ-Link Points that are redeemable with its 200+ merchants on the EZ-Link Rewards platform. At the same time, they can also enjoy offers seen on the Mastercard Priceless Specials, since it’s tied to their Mastercard credit/debit card. As a result, EZ-Link Wallet users paying with Mastercard via Pay By Wallet get to earn more points from more places and benefit from multiple loyalty platforms.

The step-by-step guide can be found on EZ-Link's official website.

To activate your EZ-Link Wallet and tie a Mastercard, you simply need the EZ-Link app (iOS, Android, AppGallery) and follow the step-by-step process here

Using Google Pay as the contactless payment mode for the EZ-Link feature.

Android users who want to pay via contactless tapping can download the Google Pay app and tie EZ-Link Wallet’s Pay By Wallet as the payment method. Contactless tapping via Google Pay works on retail and transit transactions.

iOS users will have to rely on QR code scanning for payments. According to EZ-Link, iOS users can also use the card for e-commerce or online payments. They can log in to their account to access card details (card number, expiry date, CVC, etc.) and enter it for online pages.
