Experience an immersive soundscape with Sony’s new CAS-1 system

Sony’s new CAS-1 compact audio system owes it design to the high-end ES series, and is made of three components – a main unit and two speakers that focus on creating an acoustic field on your desktop. The system supports Hi-Res Audio (HRA) in both DSD1 and PCM formats, and will also play FLAC, WAV and AIFF files in up to 24bit/192kHz quality.

The system also comes with Sony’s DSEE HX technology to upscale compressed audio to close to Hi-Res Audio quality, so you’ll be able to enjoy full-bodied sound throughout. The CAS-1 features two independent amplifiers. There’s an integrated Sony S-Master HX Hi-Res Audio amplifier technology for reduced distortion and noise when having playback from speakers, and a headphone amplifier that has also been featured in award-winning DACs like Sony’s PHA-2 for precise, powerful sound from headphones.

The system is compact, yet versatile.

The speakers themselves feature HRA-compatible drivers. There’s a collapsible 14mm soft dome tweeter for sweet highs and mids, and a highly-rigid 62mm woofer supported by a bass reflex port for booming lows, so you can enjoy great sound across the full range of frequencies.

Stream audio direct from your phone, no PC needed.

Streaming music to the CAS-1 is easy via Sony’s SongPal app on your smart device as there is LDAC support, giving you up to three times the data bandwidth over Bluetooth, thus ensuring a smooth streaming experience. Otherwise, there are also two USB ports available for playback.

The CAS-1 compact audio system will be available at all authorized Sony stores and select Sony dealers from November 2015 onwards for S$1,399.
