The first PlayStation 5 game announcement was a rather familiar one.

Sony’s big PlayStation 5 ‘Future of Gaming’ showcase kicked off with a not-unexpected announcement: Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming to the next-gen console in 2021. Rockstar Games’ 2013 open-world game clearly still has some life in it.

Watch the trailer below:

According to the Youtube description, the game will feature, “a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the console’s powerful new hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever.”

GTA Online (GTA V’s multiplayer mode) will also launch for free in 2021 for all PlayStation Plus subscribers - on PlayStation 5, that is. It will also feature online content exclusive to the next-gen console. Subscribers on PlayStation 4 will receive $1 million in GTA cash every month, leading up to the PlayStation 5 game release.

Basically, you're going to have to wait a little longer for that GTA 6 announcement.
