EVGA Introduces the EVGA Z77 FTW Motherboard

EVGA has launched their Z77 FTW motherboard.

At first glance, we thought EVGA had gone ROGued on us as its new Z77 FTW is a top-tier Intel Z77 express chipset offering that sports livery that is very similar to the ROG family.

Besides support for full PCIe Gen 3 and 4-way SLI/CrossFireX, the motherboard also includes robust overclocking features and BIOS settings. Based on the Intel Z77 Express chipset, it offers native USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps, and supports Intel Core i5 and i7 processors in the LGA1155 package. This high-end board comes in EATX (extended ATX) form factor and features five PCIe x16 expansion slots!

The EVGA Z777 FTW features active cooling for its Southbridge chipset and has PCIe disable DIP switches for troubleshooting errant graphics and expansion cards.

As a nod to overclockers who need extra power, the board features two extra 8-pin CPU power connectors and four DIMM slots that support OC memory modules rated up to 2133MHz, up to a maximum capacity of 32GB. Sparing no effort in catering to power users, the EVGA Z77 FTW has triple BIOS support for three separate profiles to suit the needs and requirements of even the most nit-picking rig builders.

We noticed that there are two on-board buttons located in the top right hand corner of the PCB, similar to the MSI Z77A-GD65. These buttons may hard to get to once the board is mounted in a chassis with its peripherals all wired up but this move allows the other onboard motherboard connectors to be located along the bottom of the board for easy access.

The Z77 FTW also packs dual Gigabit Ethernet, six USB 3.0 ports courtesy of Z77 chipset and ASMedia ASM controllers, two eSATA connectors, 7.1-channel audio, a temperature monitoring LED, UEFI BIOS, and one on-board mini-DisplayPort.
