Employee's dedication is the key to Huawei's success today
The Huawei we see today is very different from where it was five years ago. It had a full-year revenue of US$60.1 billion last year and was ranked the third largest smartphone maker in the world. Its success is attributed to the dedication of the employees.
According to the Wall Street Journal, some employees sign a "dedicated employee agreement" one year into their employment which will offer extra pay for overtime and rewards for forfeiting their vacations. These employees will also have stakes in the company via distribution of shares which are dependent on the performance of the company.
The Chinese company currently has over 170,000 employees and they reportedly feel very loyal to Huawei. They sum up their loyalty in one sentence: " "If you dedicate yourself to the company, the company won’t let you down." Will Huawei overtake Apple and Samsung to be the top phone maker in the next few years? We shall see.
