JBL's all-new Quantum range of gaming accessories are now available in town. Figuratively speaking.
With the Covid-19 outbreak effectively rendering most people on house arrest, no one's in a position to nip out and pick up a shiny new headset, which is why the folks at JBL are making it exclusively available via their flagship store on Lazada.
So, what makes the Quantum range stand out, apart from its James Bond-esque sounding name? As JBL puts it, "Sound is Survival", because as every self-respecting gamer knows, a single neglected footstep could very well end in your demise. As such, the main focus for all eight pieces in the Quantum range of equipment is to deliver sounds that "reveal every detail of the world around you" so you never miss a beat, no matter how minute.

How JBL intends to do this is through JBL QuantumSURROUND and QuantumSPHERE 360 technology. The former, which is used in the Quantum 300, 400, 600 and 800 headsets is a notch up from regular gaming headphones, which usually move the soundscape around such that it follows your head movement. However, JBL QuantumSURROUND fixes the direction of the perceived sound, compensating for any subsequent head movement. This is especially useful in FPS games since you'll know that the location you turn to after hearing a shot is always going to be the direction that it came from.
Meanwhile, JBL QuantumSPHERE 360 is only available on the QuantumONE gaming headset, packing everything that QuantumSURROUND has and then some. With this, users will also be able to use their natural head movements to pinpoint the exact sources of sounds, since the human brain instinctively processes the differences in location when a sound arrives at your left ear versus your right. As an added plus, both of these use minimal amounts of your CPU, ensuring that your setup and its resources are fully geared to your game.

Last but not least is the Quantum DUO speaker. Fully compatible with any gaming system, including PC, Mac, Windows, and gaming consoles, this little beauty features exposed drivers and tweeters that are specially tuned to provide highly immersive sound, be it a growl from an angry boss or the chaotic roar of a war zone.
The Quantum range is priced between S$89 and S$149 for the first batch of models - the Quantum 200, 300 and 400. These will be available starting April 9, while the latter batch, including the Quantum 100, 600, 800 and ONE, are priced between S$59 and S$369 and will only be available in May. As for the Quantum DUO, it'll also be joining the May entourage, although we don't have a price for it yet.
