Earin was one of the earliest brands to put out a true wireless earbud. And now, the Swedish company is back with the A-3.

The A-3 features what Earin is calling an “open” design, which is to say it sits on your outer ear and doesn’t protrude like an in-ear monitor would.

The upside to such a design is that they are often more comfortable to wear. The downside, however, is that they usually don’t fit as well.

Earin, however, says the A-3’s unique design “guarantees a secure fit that stays put during any activities or ventures”. The A-3 is also IP52-certified, so it can withstand sweat, dust, and minor splashes of water.

Interestingly, because both earbuds are virtually identically, there are no designated left or right earbud. Instead, the A-3 has a placement recognition technology in place that will automatically assign the right audio channels once owners put them on.

Inside the A-3 are 14.3mm dynamic drivers. That’s one of the largest I’ve seen in any true wireless earbud. Earin claims they move up to 20% more air than your typical true wireless earbud and can produce a bigger sound and “superior audio experience”.

As for supported wireless codecs, discerning listeners will be happy to know that the A-3 supports AAC, aptX, and SBC.

There’s no active noise cancellation. Instead, the A-3 has “wind noise reduction algorithms”. It also relies on passive attenuation afforded by its design.

The A-3 comes with a sleek aluminium charging case that charges via USB-C. Battery life on a single charge is claimed up to be up to 5 hours. With the charging case, users can expect up to 30 hours of battery life.

The Earin A-3 is available now exclusively at Shopee for S$299.
