Type it out your way.
Custom mechanical keyboards aren’t going away anytime soon, and Dreamcore plans to take full advantage of that. The company has introduced its new Hex.4B Dreamcore Edition keyboard, which allows users plenty of keyboard customisation options. Dreamcore is partnering with Singapore-based Hex Keyboards on this, too.
Only 100 units of the Dreamcore edition of Hex Keyboards’ Hex.4B are available, so you might want to act fast if it happens to catch your eye. The keyboard touts a Nightshade purple aluminium case with internal brass weight, and a 75% layout custom keyboard kit for enthusiasts.
Its O-ring PCB mounting method allows for responsive typing feel and the plateless soldered switch mounting gives users what Dreamcore describes as a, “unique, ultimate thock sound.” It does so by using the PCB to hold the keyboard switches secure during use. The keyboard contains VIA-compatible, fully programmable PCB and weighs in at an approximate 2.1kg with CNC milled aluminium and coated internal brass weight - which happens to be stamped with the Dreamcore logo, in case you’re a fan.
Dreamcore is offering buyers a few options here. You can buy the Hex.4B Dreamcore Edition barebones kit and reach out to local businesses to complete the keyboard the way you want it, or get a fully-assembled keyboard, of which only 20 units are available. The barebones kit retails for $350, while a fully-assembled unit will cost you $500. The keyboards will go on sale tonight at 9pm, on Dreamcore’s website. If you’d like to pick one up, keep tabs on the website tonight before these units run out!
