DJI's latest gimbal for phones is foldable, lighter and smaller

The DJI Osmo Mobile 3.

DJI just released its third generation handheld gimbal for smartphones, the Osmo Mobile 3.

According to DJI, the Osmo Mobile 3 is designed based on users' feedback. To address complaints of portability issues, DJI introduced a sleek and foldable design for the Osmo Mobile 3. The Osmo Mobile 3 is also 80g lighter than its predecessor at 405g.

The shorter and lighter form factor also makes the Osmo Mobile 3 easier to hold for longer periods of time. The controls are streamlined to make it easier to use one-handed. Users can switch between portrait and landscape mode easily by tapping the "mode" button three times.

There is a new Story mode feature with one-tap templates that automatically add movement, music and other effects for a polished result. The Osmo Mobile 3 supports some smart features from the drones such as Gesture Control and Active Track 3.0. Its 2,450mAh battery is able to offer up to 15 hours of usage, and it can be charged via USB-C.

The Osmo Mobile 3 is now available as a standalone item at US$105 or a combo pack with tripod and carrying case at US$139.
